2017 Summerfest for Riverdale Ambulance Services
The wide-ranging power of social & local media became apparent in Riverdale, ND on July 15, 2017! Alton & Tami Carroll and grand- daughters Kayla and Cameron drove from Winnipeg to meet Tami’s sister LouAnn and hubby John Kaiser from Ellendale, ND at the Riverdale Ambulance Squad’s Summerfest for prime rib dinner and music and dancing to The Southwest Surfers from Mesa, AZ. When the band asked how many people had already heard them play in Ari- zona, and came because of their post about this event, more than 30 hands shot up!!
Huge prime rib dinners prepared by the Knights Bar & Grill chefs were enjoyed by over 400 people - most stayed for the music and more people poured in to dance! Raffle ticket and 50-50 ticket sales were brisk with many happy winners. More than $28,000 was generated (with more expected) for the Riverdale Ambulance Service operating expenses!
CanAm Defender UTV, sponsored by Moritz Sport and Marine, one of our annual, very generous supporters, and VFRAS, was won by Zach Bruner from Mandan. Zach and his parents came to the lake to go fishing. Zach only had $20 for a raffle ticket, so his parents had to buy him supper! They had just put their boat in the water when Zach got a call to tell him he had won the UTV, so they dashed back to Riverdale to claim their prize!
