These are my favorite band photos from the Pam Taylor CD Release Party December 21, 2012 at the Double Door in Charlotte, NC. What INCREDIBLE ENERGY for the entire night! This might be the last time we all get to see the Pam Taylor Band in Charlotte for a while - I expect this band to take off like a rocket ship and be traveling the world - very soon - the comments I heard from simply EVERYONE - seems to be the same! THIS IS ONE BAND HEADED LIKE A FREIGHT TRAIN FOR STARDOM!
And they've been together less than a year... they've done what many bands take YEARS to achieve...! We're INCREDIBLY PROUD of y'all... HEAR!!
Magic was accomplished this night... EVERYONE was CAPTIVATED!
There's simply NO WORDS adequate to describe what we saw last night at the Double Door in Charlotte ... EVERYONE was blown away by one of THE BEST CD release parties I've ever witnessed... in over 26 years of shooting live music!! FAB-U-LUZ to the MAX! Their TAKE NO PRISONERS attitude will propel them to STARDOM!
Here is a review from one of my friends, Mark Massi....
I have witnessed so many great bands at The Double Door Inn over the past 30 years. But the Pam Taylor Band's debut CD release show is the finest one I've ever seen there. In particular were her original song, "Next Time You Think Of Cheating", which included an extended jam featuring Mike Taylor on sax and Brandon Kyle Phillips' tonal extravaganza on his '65 Strat. Pam's sultry warning vocals convinces you that you best not be the first one to cheat on her! Later, Pam lifted off her new Flying V, and sang Etta James' "I'd Rather Go Blind" as if she penned this angst love song herself. Particularly stunning was Kofi Burbridges (yes of Tedeschi/Trucks) wailing passages across the span of the Hammond B3, acting as a third voice to the band.
Showing that they can jam with the best of them, Pam invited Jim Brock, Robert Johnson of Moses Jones, Mark Bumgarner, bassist with Jimmy Thackery, and Ken Dudzik Dukes on harp to rip a 10 minute version of "Stormy Monday" like it had never been covered before.
If you missed this one, do yourself a favor and buy the cd "Hot Mess" from
